Well, that’s a wrap…
The wedding was never the destination. It was simply a doorway to a commitment between two humans who love each other deeply. After weeks of having them home, we took the newlyweds to the airport today, sending them off with an abundance of love and well wishes as they continue building their life together. I couldn’t be prouder.
As I’ve shared, my was able to take his leave and attend the celebration; he saved all of his time off for this occasion - what a proud younger (can’t call him little anymore) brother he is. My oldest daughter - where do I begin or end? She celebrated and supported the couple — her younger sister and new brother-in-law with unwavering love, generosity, and joy that has surpassed.
Having us all gathered together has filled my heart and soul.
They were/are a beautiful couple — inside and out. The wedding and every piece of the celebration were exquisite; love emanated through every word, every touch. Yosemite was the perfect place to celebrate.
As I have shared, this past twelve months cracked me open. It asked more of me than I thought I could give. It invited me into vulnerability, growth, expansion, and transformation. At times, it was uncomfortable. At times, it was beautiful. Most often, it was both. Love has a way of doing that.
As I sit with the quiet that follows such a full season, I find myself reflecting on family and friends. The people we grow with. The people we grow because of. The people who teach us about love, patience, resilience, forgiveness, and belonging.
And as I watched our children standing together these past few weeks—supporting one another, celebrating one another, loving one another—I realized, again, the power of vision —the one I’ve held for years has come to fruition.
I am deeply proud of the family Mike and I have worked so hard to build.
