Listen for the Light

Today’s walk was unusually quiet—yet it spoke volumes.

A brief wind broke the silence, not unlike the day the story Fourteen Feathers came to be.

Along the way, I encountered a series of objects that clearly did not belong: a lighter, two mirrors, and a lamp.

I always take note of such things. I listen for the message, the words, the meaning, the metaphors.

And after the wind broke the silence, these words came:

“The whisper doesn't always give you the answer. Sometimes it simply turns your attention toward the light.”

What an interesting paradox.

I was being told to notice the subtle while simultaneously encountering increasingly unsubtle objects—all connected to light.

And then I heard God—the Divine, Source, Spirit, my higher self, whatever you choose to call it—

I will whisper.
You lean in.
And when you notice,
I will illuminate.

Like pieces of a puzzle, the symbols began coming together.

Feathers — carried by the wind.
Wind — powerful enough to break the silence.
Whisper — subtle enough that you have to lean in to hear it.
Lighter — creates light.
Mirrors — reflect light.
Lamp — holds and offers light.

And as I continued walking, and later sat with what had come through, something felt especially important to share:

Remember all the ways light moves through you.

You can ignite it.
You can reflect it.
You can hold it.
And you can offer it.

Maybe that's part of what lean in means.

Not straining to manufacture meaning or demanding an answer, but becoming receptive enough to notice when something quietly repeats itself.

And perhaps not every message comes at the same volume.

Some things whisper because they are asking for your attention.

Others arrive like the wind because they are asking for your awakening.

And this brought me right back to the energy I painted for August.

The question I've been sitting with is:

Now that I know who I am becoming, what actually needs to happen—or change—in my life to support it?

But before we can answer that, perhaps there is an even more important acknowledgment:

Who am I now?

Not who I wish I were.
Not who I think I should be.
Not who I am trying to resemble.

Who am I when I become quiet enough to recognize myself?

Something that stood out to me while painting the energy for August 2026 was the repeated movement from internal alignment to external abundance.

My notes didn't suggest chasing treasure.

They suggested becoming the kind of person who naturally discovers it.

First came clearing limiting beliefs, quieting the mind, trusting yourself, and focusing your energy.

Then came the keys.

The treasure chest.

The rainbow bridge.

The fresh start.

The good fortune.

Perhaps abundance doesn't begin when something new arrives.

It begins the moment you become fully present with who you already are.

And maybe that requires discernment, too.

Some things don't require your attention.

Some conversations don't deserve your participation.

Some opinions don't deserve space in your mind.

Because every time we give something our attention, we are giving it some of our energy.

So listen for the subtle call.

Listen for the whisper.

Lean in.

And become discerning about what you lean toward.

Because perhaps the treasure isn't always something waiting farther down the path.

Sometimes the light simply illuminates what has been there all along. 💜
