Desire
I have been reflecting about June, my while my words are still forming… then today happened, arriving with the final lesson.
Today's word is desire.
Ironically, it began not with inspiration but with a series of interruption.
An overflowing toilet and minor flood at the gym while Mike and I covering the 5:30am class for Rich. And an unexpected trip to the emergency vet with Mac waiting patiently while our sweet, uncomfortable boy sits wrapped in towels after peeing on himself, or hiding under the chair. None of it was glamorous. None of it was on the schedule. None of it was a part of the desired plan
Yet somewhere between the shop vac and while I
currently wait in the waiting room, aware of pain others are sitting with around me, I realized something --- Desire isn't only about what we want life to give us. It's about how we choose to meet the life we've been given.
Compassion. Generosity. Hope. Love...... Have been especially important.
June has quietly shifted my desires. Less desire to control. More desire to participate. Less desire to rescue and fix. More desire to empower. Less desire to prove. More desire to embody. Less desire to do,.more desire to be and more desire to fully inhabit what is here. All of it. The discomfort. The pleasure.
As June is coming to an end, what I know for sure, I am not full of regret. I don't seek, want or desire a different life. That's been a consistent truth for years now.
And maybe that's what 2026 and embodiment has been asking of me. To simply accept and become someone whose deepest desires are not about changing circumstances out of my control, but about presence, awareness, insights, learning, growing and trusting. To be alright in my wholeness and grateful I have no desire to trade my life for someone else's.
Because when our desires become aligned with who we truly are, even an overflowing toilet, a frightened not feeling well cat, or a series of unexpected interruptions can become another opportunity to truly practice being who we wish to be while we're continuing to intentionally create a life we love. And I choose to be, see, find love.
